Bradley Primary School’s Under 11s finished a highly-creditable second in the ESTTA Butterfly National Table Tennis School Team Championship Finals.
The school were one of 29 schools to fight their way through County, Zone and Regional Championships to reach this year’s finals.
They emerged from the regional finals at St Bede’s in Blackburn, where they competed against Harewood Primary School, Thornaby, Cleveland, The Girls’ Grammar School, Bradford, West Yorkshire and St Peter’s CE Primary School, East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire.
And the team, consisting of Aminah Daar, Sidrah Mustafa, Mariah Shah and Zeba Rauf, came close to becoming overall champions at the national finals at Hinckley Leisure Centre.
Up against Chalfont St Peter of Buckinghamshire, Enmore CE Primary, Cumbrians Askam Village Primary and Bridgwater from Somerset, Bradley won two of their three games to finish runners-up behind Enmore CE Primary.
