Pendle Triathlon Club have enjoyed a busy and successful summer of competition.
Late July saw four members tackle the longest triathlon event, which is the Ironman Bolton, that consists of a 2.4-mile swim in open water, followed by a 112-mile bike ride and finally a 26.2mile run.
Sally Tidswell swam 01:35:03, cycled 07:10:53 and ran 04:37:23 for a total time of 13:41:04.
Deborah Stevenson wasn’t far behind with times of 01:35:14, 08:11:01 and 04:41:49 for a final tally of 14:48:48.
Simon Lister finished in 01:38:46, 08:20:22 and 05:59:24 for a combined 16:23:41.
A number of club members have also competed in various triathlon events around the country.
First, Becky Barr completed the Sandman Sprint Triathlon in 2hrs 27mins, and Deborah Stevenson, recovered from her exertions in Bolton, competed in the Amphibian 5km swimming event in 02:00:34.
Next up was the local Skipton Late Summer Tri, with Mark Burrows finishing in 01:21:27, Ian Barnett in 02:05:09 and Sarah Bullock 02:13:30.
Mantas Varanavicius also completed the Leeds Standard Distance Triathlon in 02:40:33, and further afield, Paul Emmott complete the Sandman Standard Distance event in 03:05:32.
