It’s been a whirlwind week for Nelson Golf Club youngster Adam Mujahid.
After finishing second (47-16-31) in the nine-hole version of the Drake’s Trophy, the 11-year-old followed up with a spectacular round of 87-29-58 on his 18-hole debut to land the Peter Halstead Cup.
His eight-year-old brother also impressed in the nine-hole event, winning with a card of 48-19-29. Lydia Cryer recorded a third place finish when firing 67-26-39.
Also starring at the club was Jacob Thomason, who won the Drake’s Trophy in his first 18-hole competition with a round of 102-36-66. The youngster finished ahead of Jamie O’Connor (85-16-69) and Josh Kilbride (86-16-70).
Jacob also secured the runner-up trophy in the Peter Halstead Cup when circling the course in 101-35-66, while Lewis Bancroft finished third with 85-16-69. Meanwhile, Matthew Halstead recorded the best gross in both the Drake’s Trophy and Peter Halstead Cup with 79 and 87 respectively.
