Colne Legion A were in blistering form when they took on Thatch and Thistle in the Pendle Pool League Team Knockout Final at Alexandra SC.

Frame one saw Nick Peacock and Steve Martin take on Peter Roach and Andy Bates, and a well laid snooker by Martin forced an error from Roach, leaving Peacock a well-taken five-ball finish for Legion to lead 1-0.

In frame two, Dean Emmott ana Bob Redman overcame John Ratcliffe and Mo McCarthy with a well-worked finish from the experienced Emmott.

Mark Wells pounced on an unfortunate in-off from his opponent Peter Roach in frame three and cleared well for Legion to lead 3-0.

It was all over in frame four as Legion captain Nick Peacock opted to break against Thatch and Thistle captain John Ratcliffe. Peacock potted a yellow from the break, followed by his remaining yellows, but snookered himself on the black.

Resourceful as ever, he weighed up his options and eventually played a magnificent escape, and in went the black to seal a whitewash victory for the Keighley Roadside.
