COLNE ASC’s final league fixture of the Friendly League season has taken place at the Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Blackburn.
Colne took the fight to Pioneer 79 and half way through the gala there was a mere three points between the two teams and after the penultimate race (the girls’ canon relay) the scores were level with just the boys’ canon relay to go.
The final race was a close one with Colne just edging out Pioneer to win the gala by 60 points to 59.
During the course of the evening there were 13 new personal bests amongst the girls and 13 amongst the boys.
This result meant that Colne have gone the entire season without being beaten.
There is now one fixture left and that is the Swim-Off on Friday, November 16th, at the Pendle Leisure Centre.
A win would see Colne are back in Division One.
