Tony Lodge, as President led the celebrations of a great weekend of golf this weekend at Ghyll.

It turned out to be a family occasion in a quite historic way as young Mark Honeyman won the Presidents Prize for the juniors on Saturday, and father Kevin won Presidents Day on Sunday!

Saturday’s Junior Competition Jack Cheetham came second, and Matthew Dowbiggin and Joseph Darcy first and second in the 29-54 category. Brandon Cocker was nearest the pin at Curlews Cry and Sam Bugler was nearest the pin at County Brook.

On President’s Day, Martin Robinson came second with 40 points, one behind Honeyman, with David Pinder third with 37 points.

The front nine was won by Liam Bowditch, the mid nine by Steve Mortimer Jnr. and the mid six by Calum Thompson. Pete Booth was nearest the pin on Curlews Cry and David Pinder was nearest the line on the 14th.

Bob Bugler, Ghyll captain, thanked Tony on behalf of all the members for all he does for the club.
