Runners can get their fix of a range of distances at the Pendle Family Running Festival – and there is plenty for children to do too.

The festival is being run in conjunction with Up and Active and Pendle Leisure Trust and will take place on Saturday, July 18th and Sunday the 19th.

It’s all based at Whitehough Outdoor Education Centre in Barley, where there will be plenty of entertainment along with the races.

On Saturday, there is the Denwa 10k race which is hilly and starts at 9-30 a.m., costing £10/12 to enter.

If that is too short, try the Physioroom half-marathon, which again starts at 9-30 a.m., costing £15/17 to enter.

In the afternoon there is the Carousel children’s fun run starting at 2 p.m., costing £2, but there are also high ropes, low ropes, archery, craft stalls, food and much more on offer during the weekend.

On Sunday, the Burnley Leisure five-mile trail race starts at 9-30 a.m., costing £6/8 to enter, while the Indigo 90-minute Orienteering event begins at noon, costing £7/9 to enter.

The Lomeshaye Nursery children’s fun run is at 2 p.m., cost £2.

There are medals for all finishers and prizes galore.
