The Howard Rigg Golf Day at Nelson Golf Club recently helped raise £2,200 for Pendleside Hospice.

The morning fourball was won by Jeff Bonsall and David Smith with 22 points.

The Howard Rigg Trophy was competed for in the afternoon, with 14 teams of four taking part.

The winning fourball team, with 117 points, comprised of Bruno Beneduce, David Thornber, Keith Harrison and Eric Dale.

During the evening, a first-class carvery was served by Nelson Golf Club caterer Andrew Duxbury, followed by the prize presentation.

Various items were donated for auction, which was conducted by Terry Robbins.

The evening was concluded with entertainment from comedian Jonnie Casson.
