A great day was had by all at Marsden Park Golf Course on Saturday to see new Captain Brian Lord start the new season.

Brian was humbled by the support from all the members who turned up in atrocious conditions to see him putt in for the new season.

A nine-hole Texas Scramble was then played in blizzard conditions, with Warren Saul, Mick Spokes and Bob Stanton winning the competition. After the competition, the members enjoyed a hot meal, followed by a meeting which was delivered by Neil and Trudi Reeves and Reevolution Golf Head Greenkeeper Andrew Miller, giving a detailed plan of action for the course maintenance during the year.

And Competition Secretary Nick Alderson outlined this year’s events which includ matches against Yorkshire clubs and cut price green fees at various courses.

A good time was had by all, and it shows that the golf club is in great shape, with 20 new members already signed up this year.
