Young archer Lewis Imeson, from Barrowford, took a gold award as he and his team mates shot the opposition for six in an inter-counties competition.

Lewis, 13, a pupil at St John Fisher and St Thomas More High School, Colne, is in the Bowmen of Pendle and Samlesbury junior squad which made up part of the winning Lancashire county team at the Junior FITA & Metric Open championships in Warrington.

His colleagues were Will Aubrey, of Walton-le-Dale, Martha Blinkhorn, of Chatburn, and Charlotte Hempsall, of Blackburn.

Club chairman Di Clarke said: “We’re very proud of all our juniors.”

The Pendle and Samlesbury junior club meets on Saturday mornings at Nab’s Head Lane, Samlesbury.
