Burnley and Pendle beat leaders Littleborough 58-26 in this top of the table clash at The Prairie Sports Village.
Littleborough went over first as they took advantage of some indiscretions around the ruck to march upfield on the back of a couple of penalties. Their big forwards crashed over.
From the kick-off, some big hitting defence by Luke Edwards and Jordan Lord, forced a knock on. From the scrum, Burnley and Pendle pressurised the line. A dummy half sneak from the Chris Greenwood, playing hooker, got the Lions on the scoresheet, converted by Marcus Farnworth.
The next try was not long coming. Greenwood spotted a gap and took a quick tap. With full back Rob Lawless in support, his neat offload put Farnworth clear to score out wide.
Then on the last tackle, a towering kick from stand off Shaye McCullough was fumbled and Jordan Lord swooped to recover the ball and score again.
Littleborough were not lying down though, and scored twice more before half-time.
In the second half, the Lions scored three consecutive tries off the back of penalty decisions within the first 10 minutes to stretch the lead to 34-14, with Luke Edwards, Greenwood and Alex Woodcock scoring.
Lord scored again, before Littleborough responded, but Lawless White and Woodcock added further tries before Littleborough had the final say of the afternoon.
