Four golfers are taking part in a marathon with a difference as they club together for charity.

Andy Mulligan, Lee Mulligan, Kyle Hodkinson and Colin Wilde are aiming to play 72 holes in one day without stopping at Nelson Golf Club on Sunday, June 14th.

The objective of the day is to raise as much money as possible through sponsorship for Macmillan Cancer Trust.

The quartet, who are all high handicappers, will be teeing off at 6am and are hoping to complete the gruelling challenge by 8pm – 20/25 miles later.

The team, who have branded themselves “Big Bellies and Big Bitters”, have thanked Nelson Golf Club for allowing them to use the course on a busy Sunday.

Andy said: “I think it is safe to say we will be ready for a sit down and a pint by the end of it.

“We are looking forward to the event but at the same time this will be tough! Please take the time to donate, it’s for a great cause.”
