Marsden Park Golf Club saw popular Captain John Catlow host the Captain’s Day competition.
On a day which was perfect for golf, Michael Brandwood shot an excellent 77-13-64 to take the men’s title, closely followed by Steve Green and Martin Shaw, both posting scores of a nett 66, with Steve taking second place on a card play-off.
The ladies winner was Margaret Riley, with an outstanding score of 99-29-70, followed by former lady president Pauline Greenwood who posted a score of 112-36-76.
The junior winner was Charlie Owen, who shot an amazing 90-37-53.
Elsewhere, over a quarter of the field broke par in competing for the Edgar Nicholson Memorial Trophy at Ghyll Golf Club.
Ian Heald (80-16-64) had two birdies and seven pars to top the leader board, a score which earned a two-shot handicap reduction.
Adam Rowley (79-14-65) was one shot behind but took the Division Two prize while Danny Blackmore (72-5-67) and Andy Smith (84-17-67) respectively headed Divisions One and Three.
Bill Eccles continued his relentless rise up the rankings as he returned a score of 44 stableford points, including nine pars, to take the June Medal by a considerable margin from Jonny Schofield (40 pts).
