Barrowford’s Natalie Haythornthwaite was on duty with England over the week in the netball Quad Series.

Tracy Neville’s side beat New Zealand in extra time on Saturday at the Copper Box Arena at the Olympic Park, and on Monday night, at the same venue, the Roses fell short against the world number one side Australia, losing 50-46. Haythornthwaite came on for former Australia international Chelsea Pitman just before the break, as England, having trailed 28-21, reduced the deficit to 37-34 in the third quarter, only for Australia to hold on.

England face South Africa for the final game of the series on Sunday in Johannesburg, before the Commonwealth Games squad is named next week.
