l Peter Aliss, described by Golf Digest as “the greatest golf commentator ever” is coming to Colne Muni on Thursday, March 5th for “An evening with” event, and question and answer session.

Tickets are £17 advance, and £22 on the door.

Aliss, in most people’s minds “The Voice of Golf”, followed his father’s footsteps and between 1954 and 1969, had a very successful career.

He made his broadcasting debut in 1961, as part of the BBC team covering the Open Championship. His retirement from international golf at the age of 38 led to a full-time career on the other side of the ropes, and by 1978 he was the BBC’s chief golf commentator.

Peter, who also had TV success with ‘Pro-Celebrity Golf’ between 1974 and 1988, ‘Around with Alliss’, and ‘A Golfer’s Travels’, will visit Colne as part of his tour of the country.
