PENDLE Forest returned from the North East for the second week running without any points.

After a long journey, Forest started slowly and found themselves 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes, with Morpeth scoring two well-worked short corners.

This woke Forest up, and they started to come back into the game.

Both teams had a lot of possession and created chances, with Cathy Waters going close from a short corner before scoring a second short corner from the left hand side of the D.

In the second half Forest began to exert their authority and levelled the score when Dani Atherton netted from the top of the D at a short corner.

Morpeth were reduced to 10 players when they had a player sin binned, and Forest tried in vain to take the lead.

Deb Bythell took a tumble in her defensive 25-yard area before racing forward to meet a cross from Atherton to send the ball goalwards, only for the Morpeth goalkeeper to make a fantastic save.

Forest were made to pay with five minutes remaining when Morpeth were awarded a short corner.

They slotted the ball home and converted another chance with two minutes remaining, leaving Forest with no time to reply.

FINAL SCORE: Morpeth 4, Pendle Forest 2
