PENDLE Phoenix’s junior/midi section show off their new tackle equipment, recently bought with sponsorship money from Lancashire County Council.
The picture shows some of the section members with the equipment, which will ensure that correct techniques will be coached in a safe environment.
The tackling donut will replicate a moving player, and Pendle are the first club in the county to have one.
The tackle bags and shields will also ensure that the players will improve their techniques before they start tackling each other.
Meanwhile, at the weekend, the new look mini colts travelled to local rivals Clitheroe for their first competitive match since the re-launch of junior rugby at Pendle Phoenix.
All the youngsters got a chance to wear the red of Pendle Phoenix and all enjoyed a great first match.
Tomorrow see the release of the 2013 Pendle Phoenix Wags calendars.
Members’ and players’ partners have put together a calendar in an effort to raise money towards building changing rooms.
All the money raised will go towards much-needed funds, so in the near future, with the support of the RFU, Pendle can build some new changing facilities.
Pendle would like to thank all the sponsors who supported the club whilst making the calendar - Bombay Lounge, Bombay Hut, Sapphire Cleaning, Scarlett Ribbons, Kraft foods, XLCR Vehicle Management, Premier Wealth Management, Benson & Clarke, The Crown Hotel & Printing.com
