Barlick Fellrunners linked up with Trawden AC to help set a course record in winning the 24-hour Adidas Thunder Run in Derbyshire.
The team, made up of five Barlick Fellrunners and three Trawden AC members – Gary Shaw, Matt Lalor, Ian Livesey, Chris Singleton, Christina Singleton, Stephen Chew, Stephen Gregory and Nick Gaskell, with support from Dave Potter – took on the event, which involves 24 hours non-stop running over a 10k cross country course.
The locals battled ever-changing conditions to win the event by two clear laps as they smashed the record.
On Saturday at the Cowling Gala, Barlick’s Hannah Watson won her first race with a great run. Harley Treitl was second and Elle Honeyman fourth in their respective races.
Julian Hood was second to England international Tom Adams at Bingley.
