In the Pendle Pool League Leaver Bros. Memorial Trophy Final, Colne Snooker Club A created history as they saw off Station Hotel Earby 4-0 in a mere 37 minutes!
In the first doubles frame, Derek Hart cleared the table after an error by Tom Shires, and Station’s woes continued as Harry Ormerod potted the black prematurely, giving their opponents a 2-0 lead.
In the first singles frame, Snooker Club’s Andy Darrock took a well-worked finish against Shires to increase their lead, and victory was secured in frame four as Steve Martin overcame Mick Parfitt.
Alex’s “Dynamite” Dave Drinkwater and Ben “Shot Maker” Bulcock won the Doubles Knockout.
They got off to a good start as Bulcock took a great five-ball pressure clearance.
Multiple champions Mick Thompson and Andy Jackson drew level courtesy of a well-worked four ball clearance by Thompson.
An unfortunate early in-off by Jackson in frame three gave their opponents two visits, and Drinkwater made an excellent eight-ball clearance for the Alex pair to lead 2-1.
A tactical frame four ensued, but a missed opportunity on black by Jackson opened the door for Drinkwater, who laid a great snooker which Thompson failed to negotiate, leaving Bulcock to taking four balls and black to secure a well deserved victory.
