Colne ASC led from the first race to win the North East Lancs Friendly League Swim-Off at the Hyndburn Leisure Centre on Friday, and retain their place in Division One for 2015.

The contest was between the two teams at the bottom of Division One - Colne and Clitheroe - and two teams from Division Two - Great Harwood and Darwen.

Colne won 10 of the first 15 races to open up a 17-point lead, and after 20 they led by 13 from Clitheroe.

The following 20 races saw Colne win with 128 points, by seven from Clitheroe, who also retained their Division One status, with Great Harwood third on 79 points and Darwen fourth on 62.
