Barnoldswick’s Alex Szostack has signed for Workington Town.
The Scotland international second rower left Sheffield Eagles in February due to work commitments, but he has joined Kingstone Press Championship side Workington on a deal until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old former West Craven Warrior started his career with Bradford Bulls before joining Sheffield in 2008, where he made almost 150 appearances.
He has 17 caps for Scotland, most recently featuring against New Zealand in the RLWC2013 quarter-final.
Workington coach Phjil Veivers said: “He’ll be a good signing for us. I coached Alex at Bradford when he was playing with the Under 18 and Under 20 sides and I’m sure he’ll help the more inexperienced players within the squad. Alex will help mould us into a better Championship side. We’ve always had a strong desire to stay in this league and signing Alex just goes to prove our intentions.”
