Three-way card play-off at Colne Golf Club

The Elga qualifier was played at Colne on Saturday, with John Garnett’s 86-18-68 the winning score after a three-way card play-off.

Second was Andrew Pinder (73-5-68), with Alan Lonsdale (86-18-68) third.

The gross prize went to Ian Robinson.

At Ghyll onSunday, the Prestons Trophy was won by Ivan Rhodes with a nett 65.

The Division One winner was Bill Aitkin with a nett 68.

The Division Two winner was Captain, David Taylforth with a nett 68, and the Division Three winner was Ian Heald also with a nett 68.

At Marsden Park on Saturday, the Alfie Robbie Cup was won by Philip Marlow with 43 points, with Lloyd Bridge second, on the card, with 42 points from Stephen Davies.

John Wrigley was fourth with 40, again on the card from Nick Alderson.

The ladies’ competition was won by Janet Kelly with 35 points from Susan Ellison with 30, and the junior winner was Jake Proctor with 37.
