Thrills, spills and Gill at the Dave Burnett Trophy

A rare windless day at Nelson Golf Club for the sponsored Dave Burnett Trophy helped Steven Gill post a winning 70-7-63.

In Division 1 Dale Bertram took the honours with his 71-6-65, followed closely by Chris Brindle’s 72-6-66.

A winning 84-20-64 gave David Boys first place in Div 2, and a 83-17-66 put Graham Harris into second place.

A cool gross 70 was the best of the day shot by Craig Waddington.

At Marsden Park, Micheal Holden’s 85-18-67 won him the Ramsbotton Putter, two shots ahead of Andrew Tootle’s 82-13-69 closely followed by Craig Watson whose score of 87-17-70.

The Metcalfe Salver was won by Andrew Forsyth with a great score of 85-19-66, one shot ahead of Bob Robinsion’s 93-26-67 with Robert Stanton in third place with a score of 84-16-68.

The ladies and the juniors competed for 3 Clubs and a putter with Margaret Riley winning with 32 points, one shot ahead of Janet Kelly and Jake Proctor winning the junior competition again with 32 points.
