Trawden AC have been named England Athletics North West Club of the Year – a region that covers Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria.
The nomination came from Kate Reid of Lancashire Sport Partnership for outstanding contributions to local grassroots and community running. Club Chairman Paul Brown said: “Our nomination came out of the blue and we were humbled to receive this prestigious award. Trawden AC has always been incredibly supportive of its members and other runners, something we have built on recently with our key involvement in local and free initiatives such as Parkrun and Couch to 5K. Running can be an immensely rewarding and beneficial activity and everyone, from beginners to the elite, should be encouraged and are always welcome in Team TAC!”
The club will now go forward to the national awards in Birmingham later this month.
