Triathlete stars recognised at end of season awards bash

The Pendle Triathlon Club held its first end of season awards celebration at the Emmott Arms Laneshawbridge on Saturday night.

Triathlete of the Year went to Stephen Gregory, of Trawden, who has represented GB internationally and has completed a total of 12 triathlons in 2014.

The award for Improver of the Year went to Gill Robinson of Colne and the award for Novice of the Year went to Rebecca Barr of Colne. The awards were presented by the club’s senior coach Josh Hutchinson.

The club thanked the Emmott Arms for the excellent hospitality. Training sessions are continuing throughout the winter and details can be found on www.pendletriclub.co.uk.

Plans are also in place to hold the Annual Pendle Triathlon Event on May 10th 2015. Two competitions will held: a sprint triathlon event consisting of 750m swim, 22.4km cycle and a 5.4km run (competitors must be 15 by 31/12/2015) and a GoTri Event consisting of 250m swim, 11km cycle and a 2.5km run (competitors must be 14 by 31/12/2015). In conjunction with this event West Craven Sport Centre (Pendle Leisure Trust) is running a boot camp every Thursday between 8-30 and 9-30pm.
