Thompson and Richard Meade came into the attack and completely dominated.

Abbas and he immediately caused havoc, getting Lewis Bradley caught behind for a duck in his first over. Brother Russell (2) was out in the second over, bowled by Simon Read, but Phelan and sub pro, Ryan Canning, weathered the storm and gradually built a match-winning partnership of 56.

Khurrum Nazir’s wicket was the only other one to fall.
