Nelson saw their three-game winning run ended on Sunday, as Burnley stayed in contention at the top of the table with a four-wicket win at MyProtein Turf Moor.

Qasim Shah top scored with 70 for the hosts, while professional Asif Zakir added 25 after taking 3-46.

Nelson skipper Russell Bradley won the toss and elected to bat, and the visitors were dismissed for 181 in 45.2 overs.

David Crotty anchored the innings for Nelson, the opener hitting 77 before being fifth man out at 144.

He found support from professional Reeza Hendricks (25) and his captain Bradley (26), with Mr Extras chipping in with 28.

Zakir finished with 3-46 and Cole Hayman 3-41.

In reply, Shah produced a similar knock to Crotty, coming in at 20-1, and sticking around until he was sixth man out at 156.

Opener Liam Bedford made 22, and Zakir 25.

Nelson host Littleborough tomorrow.
