Sri Lankan professional Shashrika Pussegolla was the star as Barnoldswick got the better of Euxton by 32 runs in the Ribblesdale Cricket League on Saturday.
Pussegolla scored 84 out of a score of 157-8 and then took 4-25 to help bowl out Euxton for 125.
As Barnoldswick batted first there were also contributions from Abdul Saddique (26), captain Luke Hodgson 17 and Sajid Akhtar (11 not out).
Francois Haasbroek took 5-57 for Euxton. In reply, Louis Sweeney’s 29 not out down the order was the top score for Euxton as Pussegolla completed a fine all-round performance with the ball.
There was also two wickets for Mohammed Saffii (2-36) and Jonathan Beech (2-6).
The win completed a good weekend for Barnoldswick after a five-run win over Read in a high-scoring Twenty20 clash on Friday night.
Umer Saddique scored 87 and a huge score looked on the cards but Read fought back and restricted them to 166-8.
Read were well up with the rate thanks to a quick-fire 40 from Kyle Connor but the introduction of Luke Hodgson changed the game and his 4-16 meant that Read came up short of their target.
In tonight’s, Friday, Twenty20 action Barnoldswick host Padiham and Earby travel to Read. Earby are on the road again on Saturday against Settle with Barnoldswick welcoming Whalley.
