IT was a successful week for Barrowford Cricket Club as both teams enjoyed comfortable victories.
The first team travelled to Cullingworth and enjoyed the typically warm welcome that is always on offer at the Roydwood Ground.
It was an important toss to win as the wicket was showing just a hint of green.
Sharing the new ball M. Clark and C. Platt ensured the Cullingworth batsmen never settled. Platt bowled economically without reward, while fellow opener Clark returned his best figures for the club, finishing with 6-39. A. Choudhry chipped in with 3-6 as the home side were dismissed for 92.
Despite a couple of wobbles, Barrowford secured a six-wicket victory with 21 overs to spare, thanks largely to opener L. Roberts who saw the Bul Holme side home with an impressive 45 not out.
The second team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 77-run victory against Cullingworth seconds. Barrowford elected to bat and captain J. Ormerod once again set the standard with 84, as the home posted an always challenging 155.
Once again the bowling unit shared the wickets, P. Carey (2-24), R. Harris (3-16) and M. Atkinson (2-22) ensured the visitors were dismissed for only 78. Barrowford Cricket Club would like to thank the White Bear Pub, Barrowford for sponsoring the match ball in this game.
