Earby and Barnoldswick were both victorious on Saturday.
In Section A, openers Dave Crotty (87) and Ian Clarkson (56) contributed 143 of Earby’s winning total of 219-9, after hosts Baxenden posted 216-9.
Luke Hipgrave took 4-78 off 17 overs and skipper Matt Haines 5-76 off the same number of overs, as Baxenden set a challenging total, with contributions from Liam Watkinson (29), Kurt Smithson (43), Matthew Schofield (31), Mark Rishton (20) and David Mills (37).
But Earby got home with a wicket and five balls to spare, with Lee Parkinson’s 28 adding to Crotty and Clarkson’s fine first-wicket stand, while Jake Greenbank (6 not out) and Anthony Kershaw (10 not out) kept their nerve.
The highest scorer came in section B was Lehann Jansen Van Rensburg, who, batting with power and precision, hit 111 not out for Brinscall at Barlick. However, he finished on the losing side in a run feast.
Needing 265 for the win, Barlick got home off the fifth ball of the 43rd over, helped by half centuries from Umar Saddique and Kyle Marshall.
Barlick reached the 50 mark before captain Luke Hodgson (32) hit a half chance to mid off to produce a magnificent diving catch, and Umer Saddique and brother Abdul got them above 100.
Barlick remained up with the rate throughout, and, eight down needing 10 to win, John Hall (26 not out) got the hosts over the line.
Earby host Read and Barlick are at home to Salesbury tomorrow.
