Booming Burnley online fashion retailer Boohoo is set for further expansion.

The dotcom firm has bought the former Ultra Finihsing site in Widow Hill Road, across the road from its current base of operations.

It follows the recent completion of the company’s £14m. warehouse extension and is expected to result in an additional 125 jobs – bringing the total workforce in Burnley up to 1,000.

Founded in Manchester in 2006, Boohoo designs, sources, markets and sells its own brand clothing, shoes and accessories to customers aged predominantly 16 to 24.

Since opening its distribution centre in Heasandford Industrial Estate three-and-half years ago, the company has continued to grow at an exponential rate.

This latest news comes after Ultra Finishing announced earlier this month it was ending its 30-year association with the town.

A spokesman for Boohoo said: “Our commitment to Burnley is further demonstrated by this latest property acquisition. Expect further details shortly.”

Boohoo is currently recruiting for both warehouse and customer services staff in Burnley.
