The highly popular Arts, Crafts and Gifts Fair is taking place again at the Pendle Hippodrome Theatre, Colne, after a successful launch on Friday.
And, at the official opening, as a result of Pendle Hippodrome hosting our annual Leader Times Stage Awards, £1,500 has been donated to local charities.
The fair carries on until Sunday at the theatre in New Market Street.
There are 100 stalls with a whole range of materials including art and crafts as well as potential presents for Christmas as well as meals and refreshments.
At the opening ceremony on Friday, chairman of the theatre Mr Kevin Mason welcomed the guests including Mayor of Pendle Coun. Graham Roach. Later, Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson arrived, too.
Mr Mason announced the two £750 donations given to guests. The first was to Christine Bradley, representing the Friends of Colne Library. The Friends were established in 2010 as a result of the Big Lottery funding to refurbish the library, and they represent the views of library users and the community. They also raise money and run events like Remembrance Day Poetry events. In 2015, they will hold two First World War exhibitions.
The second £750 donation went to Nelson Dance Festival, which used to take place in Nelson but is now held at the Hippodrome every year.
